PRP Architects has been appointed to lead the first stage in a 拢100m research project into developing smart energy systems for buildings
The firm will carry out research for the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) into how people use smart metering systems in their homes.
The project, launched by the prime minister in April, aims to lead to a new wave of technologies and solutions in the energy efficiency market
Rebecca Sweeney, ETI project manager, said: 鈥淭his research will ultimately help to identify trends in real mass-market consumer behaviour, requirements and profiles in order to help us in our goal to design and communicate an effective smart energy system design for the UK market.鈥
The project is also supported by University College London鈥檚 Energy Institute, Frontier Economics and The Peabody Trust.
