Here are the winning designs from a sustainable housing design competition run by architect PRP.

The winning design 'Home is where the Heart is' features wind turbines and bio-mass CHP, which will use fuel sourced from a local forest. Other features include a ventilation chimney, a basement pantry, storage and sun- hat.

Second place was Beyond Code 6 which addresses issues of transport, waste, water and lifestyle, and renewable energy sources, and third was Adaptive Communities, which focused on the changing need of the occupant.

Other finalists were the SUN-Home, Keep It Local, Code for Code 6, and C6- ABC.

PRP designed the Sigma Demonstration Home for The Stewart Milne Group, which was built at the BRE Innovation Park in June 2007.
