Prince of Wales鈥 architecture charity pledges to drive improvements in worldwide sustainable development
The Prince of Wales鈥 architecture charity has joined forces with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to create a partnership to help involve communities in sustainable development.
The Prince鈥檚 Foundation said the new venture would see the production of a practical guide to community planning with leading practitioners, supported by a range of case studies.
Foundation chief executive Hank Dittmar said the partnership was a 鈥渇antastic opportunity鈥 to collaborate with other leading practitioners in the field of sustainable development.
鈥淐ommunity engagement in the planning process is key and we hope that this new partnership with RICS will enable us to create a framework to be used as guidance on projects across the world,鈥 he said.
The Prince鈥檚 Foundation, which began life in 1987, engages with communities across the world, with projects ranging from Sierra Leone to the Galapagos Islands to the post-earthquake redevelopment of Haiti.
