A new Marine 好色先生TV at Plymouth University, designed by Burwell Deakins Architects, has been opened by the Duke of Edinburgh
The BREEAM Excellent building prioritises the use of passive measures above expensive technologies, resulting in a highly efficient deep-plan building with natural lighting and ventilation.
Additional sustainability features include a set of photovoltaics and a rainwater harvesting system.
Built to provide a range of flexible research facilities, work and educational spaces, the new Marine 好色先生TV also includes a World Class hydrodynamics facility and a dedicated business innovation centre for marine renewable technology.
The main contractor on the job was Leadbitter Group.
