Chinese backed-scheme to provide student accommodation and business space is designed by architect Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson
Plans have been submitted for a 21-storey tower in Sheffield city centre.
The 40,865m2 development, designed by Sheffield-based architects Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson, evolved out of plans to create a Sheffield Chinatown in 2005 and will be mainly made-up of student accommodation with some residential apartments, commercial and business space as well.
There will be 695 student beds in the development
As part of the development the existing Chinese supermarket at the site will be allotted space within the new scheme.
The development, which is backed by Chinese investors, will include a 鈥渂usiness incubator鈥 space aimed 鈥渋n particular [at] Chinese start-ups鈥.
The plans also contain 103 car parking spaces and 110 cycle parking spaces.
