Penoyre & Prasad-designed Himley Village goes in for planning
A planning application has been submitted for 1,700 new homes in North west Bicester, Oxfordshire.
The Himley Village scheme forms part of the 6,000-home planned North west Bicester eco-town, one of four garden cities recently announced by the government.
Himley Village will include a 100 unit retirement village, public and play spaces, a primary school, village pub and local retail and community facilities centred around a village green.
The developer is P3eco, the masterplanners and architects are Penoyre & Prasad, the landscape designers are Farrer Huxley Associates and the engineer is Alan Baxter Associates.
Farrells is masterplanner for the eco town as a whole.
All homes will meet level five of the code for sustainable homes and all commercial space will aim to achieve BREEAM 鈥榚xcellent鈥.
Sunand Prasad said: 鈥淥ur inspiration comes from the historic landscape and reflects the field pattern structured by hedgerows. The scheme will include orchards and allotments, encouraging future residents to cultivate the land and the landscape which will form an integral part of their home environment.鈥
