The latest phase of the Alderly Park scheme will include landscaped gardens and breakout areas designed to encourage collaboration

The lab building will span five floors and be suitable for chemistry and biology, while the new office will be split across six floors, offering co-working, serviced, leased and made and managed spaces.

It will be the first new commercial space to be delivered since the joint venture acquired the site in 2014.

The campus is already home to more than 250 companies and the developer said the new space would accommodate up to 1,600 new science and tech jobs.

The scheme will feature landscaped gardens and breakout areas designed to encourage collaboration.

Dr Kath Mackay, director of life sciences at Bruntwood SciTech, said it was 鈥渧ital鈥 to invest in specialist infrastructure given the 鈥渟ignificant lack of available lab space鈥 in the UK.

Bruntwood SciTech has also submitted planning permission for new residential accommodation 鈥 the proceeds from the sales of these properties will be reinvested into the new development, according to the developer.

The joint venture鈥檚 development team consists of project manager Avison Young, architects Bridge Architects and Leach Rhodes Walker, engineer Buro Happold and landscape firm Planit-IE.
