A £50m PFI deal to renovate the Central Library in Liverpool was signed this week, following four years of planning. The 150-year-old building has now closed while the work is carried out by contractor Shepherd along with Amber Infrastructure.
The architect on the scheme is Austin-Smith:Lord. The library is scheduled to reopen at the end of 2012.
