Peter Dixon among construction industry figures on Queen's New Year Honours List
Key figures from housing, sustainable development, architecture and construction have been honoured in the Queen's annual New Year Honours List.
Peter Dixon, former chairman of government agency the Housing Corporation, has been awarded a knighthood. Dixon was chair of the organisation from October 2003 until its merger with English Partnerships at the beginning of December to form new superagency the Homes and Communities Agency.
OBEs were given to Gideon Amos, chief executive of the Town and Country Planning Association, for services to sustainable development, Edward King, formerly of the Sustainable 好色先生TVs Division of the communities department and Paul Morrell, architect.
MBEs were awarded to consultant engineer Barry Haseltine, for services to the construction industry, and Terry Lazenby, chairman of the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board.
