Inspectors from the IOC will spend two days visiting Olympic sites to check on progress.

Olympic inspectors will today arrive in London for the first inspection of progress on the city's preparations for the 2012 Games.

Inspectors from the International Olympics (IOC) co-ordination commission will visit key Olympic sites including the Dome and the Olympic Park at Stratford to see that work is on track. Their visit, hosted by Sebastian Coe, London mayor Ken Livingstone and Olympics minister Tessa Jowell, will last two days.

It will be the first time that all members of the commission have gathered in the capital since the city won the right to host the games on July 6 last year.

The inspectors will also receive an update on progress for the Channel Tunnel rail link.
