Contract awarded under Highway Agency鈥檚 major projects framework
A joint venture between BAM Nuttall and Morgan Sindall has been awarded a 拢136m contract to upgrade a 24-mile section of the M62.
Under the contract 鈥 which was awarded under the Highway Agency鈥檚 managed motorways framework 鈥 the bmJV will resurface and improve the drainage of the hard shoulder so it can be used as an additional lane.
Works on the project by the bmJV joint venture will commence 2011 Q4 with completion due in 2014.
The bmJV secured a place on the Highway Agency鈥檚 four year National Major Projects Framework in February 2010. The framework is worth around 拢2bn.
Morgan Sindall Group chief executive Paul Smith said: 鈥淭his award underlines our strength in the highways sector, where we have an excellent track record and are already delivering a range of projects to modernise the motorway network in the UK.
鈥淚t also highlights the value of securing positions on major frameworks, which help to provide visibility and security of earnings.鈥
