Government outlines 拢13bn of planned infrastructure improvements

The government has published a blueprint for how it intends to spend 拢13bn on improved transport infrastructure in northern England as part of its 鈥楴orthern Powerhouse鈥� initiative.

Transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin said: 鈥淭his one nation government is determined to close the economic gap between north and south. Investing in transport 鈥� something that successive governments have failed to do sufficiently 鈥� is vital to making that happen.鈥�
