Architect reveals plans for luxury 400-bed scheme
Architects Nightingale Associates have unveiled plans for a private hospital in Malaysia.
The 400 bed hospital in Johor Bahru will be built for KPJ Healthcare Berhad.
The design is based on the outline of a healing hand with an atrium in the palm including support departments serving the whole hospital and six specialist departments forming the fingers.
The design proposals will soon be submitted to the Malaysian Ministry of Health.
The project will be developed in two phases, the first of which is scheduled to start on site mid-2012.
Nightingale Associates are the lead architects while local M&R Architects will carry out the detailed design. Heathcare Technical Services are also on the team.
Project architect at Nightingale Associates, Milorad Vucinic, said: 鈥淣ightingale Associates is looking to increase its project portfolio in Asia, tackling the new challenge of designing and building hospitals for regions with tropical climates. This exciting project has given us the opportunity to design a hospital for the high-end international market, and for the patient focused delivery of highest quality medical services.鈥
