Engineering consultant Buro Happold has been appointed to masterplan Gia Lam New Town in Hanoi province, Vietnam

The practice will work with Danish architect Dissing + Weitling and Vietnam-based consultancy Vinaconex on the 1,200ha urban development, which has been commissioned by the Vietnam Development Bank and Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam. The scheme is to be built in several phases and the outline masterplan is due by February next year.
