The Davis Langdon associate director says the Australian city is becoming a victim of its own success, but one thing's for sure, the sun will always shine on Perth

Postcard from Perth

Dear ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV,
It’s not too hard to find many parallels with working in Perth compared to Edinburgh. Friendly people, busy market, small city that punches above its weight. Fantastic views from the office (the river in Perth and the old town/castle in Edinburgh) are a few that spring to mind. The market here is unique and in many ways Perth is now becoming a victim of its own success. House prices and German car prices continue to increase. The construction market is the same; inflation is at 12% pa, steel at $12k/t all add to the challenge of making projects successful. But one constant that will hopefully never end is the certainty of sun and warmth (if that’s a good thing for a Scotsman!).
All the best, Neil Dickson - Davis Langdon
