The 27-storey Multiplex/Tesco tower will be the biggest in Kensington for 30 years

A 拢200m tower in Kensington to be built by Wembley contractor Multiplex has been given the go-ahead by councillors.

Following three years of consultation, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea鈥檚 major planning development committee has given endorsement for the landmark 27-storey residential development on 100 West Cromwell Road.

The 拢200 million project - a joint venture between Multiplex and Tesco - is the biggest development of its kind in Kensington and Chelsea for at least three decades. Designed by architect Wood Bagot, the scheme will include 433 high-quality residential units.

Tesco and Multiplex have a longstanding commitment to West Cromwell Road as a market-leading residential development.

The major planning development committee has stated that it is minded to give planning consent to the proposal, subject to further clarification on the community facilities that arise from the project.
