Morgan Sindall has won a 拢15.8m contract to redevelop and upgrade facilities at the University of Hertfordshire
The development will include the construction of a new two-storey student services building and a new main reception area and learning zone at the university鈥檚 College Lane campus.
Work also includes the refurbishment of a number of existing buildings at the campus in Hatfield.
The project is part of the University of Hertfordshire鈥檚 鈥�2020 Estates Vision鈥� redevelopment plan which will transform the university鈥檚 College Lane and de Havilland Campuses.
The new-build development is designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating.
A key feature of the building includes several water saving features and an attractive and sustainable 鈥榞reen roof鈥�, which will be planted with sedum vegetation to absorb rainwater and provide insulation.
The project is due to complete in May 2014.
