Scheme at Clerkenwell Green will redevelop 7,500m2 office as Mitie points to 鈥榖uoyant鈥 work pipeline
Mitie鈥檚 built environment business has won a 拢10.5m refurbishment project for leading developer Derwent London.
The scheme, at 49 Clerkenwell Green, is a 7,500m2 office redevelopment and fit out starting this month and scheduled to finish before the end of the year.
The job 鈥 which aims to create a BREEAM 鈥榲ery good鈥 building 鈥 will completely remodel the external facade with new glazing at ground floor level, new cladding to the fourth floor and sloping glazing to the rear elevation.
New mechanical and electrical infrastructure will be installed throughout and the office space will retain its 鈥渋ndustrial feel鈥 according to Mite, with exposed concrete soffits and steel columns.
A spokesman said: 鈥淭his design and build project will provide high quality category A office space with a new reception and entrance facing Clerkenwell Green.
鈥淭he works include structural alterations to enable the new entrance to be formed, an atrium infill and level four office extension.鈥
In an interim management statement released on 30 January, Mitie highlighted contract wins of more than 拢90m in the private and public sectors as proof of a 鈥榖uoyant鈥 pipeline and said revenue was in line with expectations.
鈥淢itie has made good progress in each of its key target markets during the year to date,鈥 the firm said in a statement.
鈥満蒙壬鶷V on the success of the first half of the financial year, we have continued to secure new contracts as well as retain and extend the scope of work with existing clients. Revenue and earnings are developing in line with management鈥檚 expectations.鈥
Recent contract wins also include a four year contract valued at more than 拢20m with insurance firm LV= to manage and deliver building repair services.
