ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV's terrace reception at the House of Commons attracts the top names in construction as well as Lords, ministers and MPs

The great and the good of the construction industry descended on the House of Commons on Monday evening to mingle with MPs and Lords at the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV terrace reception.

As the sun set across the Thames, industry figures such as Robert McAlpine construction director Benny Kelly and Bovis Lend Lease chief executive Murray Coleman rubbed shoulders with former construction ministers Nick Raynsford and Nigel Griffiths. Science minister Malcolm Wicks made an irreverent speech praising the magazine and the industry for its achievements.

After a long evening of drinks and discussion, most of the guests made their way home – though a few could be seen heading towards famed Westminster hang-out the Red Lion in search of more networking opportunities.

Hosted by the all-party parliamentary study group for construction, the terrace reception has become a fixture of the industry’s social calendar and a chance for those who run construction to talk to those who run the country.
