Firm will upgrade cells and lifts under framework deal worth 拢1m
Miller Construction has won a 拢1m contract for upgrade work at Manchester Crown Court through the Ministry of Justice鈥檚 Strategic Alliance Agreement Framework for the North.
The work is the first award under the six-year framework, and Miller said it was increasingly looking to justice as a developing market. The contract is understood to be worth around 拢1m.
Starting later this year the firm will upgrade and replace holding cells, lifts and M&E services at the Crown Square complex, including work on its lighting and heating systems.
Miller Construction chief executive Chris Webster said the win was 鈥渁 very significant contract鈥 for the firm.
鈥淲e were pleased to be included on the framework as a strategic delivery partner in the North and are delighted to have secured our first contract, which is incidentally the first to be let,鈥 he said.
鈥淥ur appointment to the framework is in line with our business strategy to develop long-term relationships, and we look forward to showcasing our high-end delivery capabilities.
鈥淛ustice is one of our developing markets and this contract will see us build on our experience gained during the delivery of Bristol Civil Justice Centre and the award winning North Tyneside Area Command Headquarters.鈥
Work on the Manchester job is due to begin later this year for completion next March.
