The RMT union says Metronet鈥檚 administrators have failed to provide guarantees over jobs and pensions
A 72-hour strike by Tube maintenance workers is set to go ahead later today.
The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers union said 2300 of its members would be striking from 6pm this evening because of lack of guarantees over jobs and pensions following the collapse of Metronet.
The London Underground said this morning that it was still keen to resolve the dispute. A spokesperson said: 鈥淪ince 4pm yesterday [Sunday] afternoon, we have made it clear we have satisfied RMT demands. We are keen to get round the table and stop what would be major disruption to London.鈥
The RMT claims that Metronet's administrators have failed to give the unequivocal guarantees on jobs, transfers and pensions it is seeking.
London Undergrond said that the strike would not affect the Piccadilly, Northern and Jubilee lines, which are maintained by Tube Lines rather than Metronet.
