Exclusive: Northern Irish contractor favourite for hotel and apartment complex at Terrace Mount in Bournemouth
Northern Irish contractor McAleer & Rushe is on the edge of securing a £56m hotel and apartment complex in Bournemouth, after fighting off stiff competition from a handful of major industry players.
The contractor is understood to be favourite for job at Terrace Mount in Bournemouth, after edging ahead of a handful of bidders, including Sir Robert McAlpine, Kier, Galliford Try and John Sisk.
The scheme is being developed by That Bournemouth Company.
According to construction data company Barbour ABI the job is worth £56m.
The project, by architect Cube Design, comprises a main 4 or 5 star hotel containing 167 bedrooms, 59 apartments, a skybar, a leisure club, swimming pool, conferencing facilities and a café. The second 3 star hotel will consist of 114 bedrooms.
Construction on the scheme is expected to begin before the end of the year.
