May Gurney鈥檚 acquisition of contrator Turriff also helps to drive total revenue increase to 21%
Increased government spending on highways has boosted maintenance and service specialist May Gurney鈥檚 turnover by 14% over the first half of the year, the company鈥檚 interim results show.
The acquisition of contractor Turriff also helped boost the growth in revenue by a further seven percentage points.
The total revenue was up to 拢351m in the first half of the financial year from 拢289m over the period last year.
It scored over 拢290m of new work and contract extensions for jobs in waste management and street lighting for a number of local authorities.
Chief executive Philip Fellowes-Prynne said: 鈥淥ur strong financial position is the result of our proven strategy of focusing on developing long-term relationships with our clients for the delivery of essential front-line maintenance and enhancement services.鈥
