The £120m arena will open in 2014
Construction has begun on the largest indoor arena in the world. The 50,000 capacity venue in Manila, the Philippines, has been designed by Populous and is being built by Hanwha Engineering & Construction Corp. Buro Happold is providing engineering services. The client, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) expects to open the £120m arena in 2014. Although it will be used for major religious gatherings, the multi-use venue will also be capable of holding sport and live music events.
