Manchester University has published a tender for 拢670m of contracting work on its 拢1bn campus development.

The university approved plans for a new single campus including engineering facilities, a business school, a library and a students union in 2012.

The university is seeking three contractors to enter an eight-year framework agreement to build both phases of the mega-scheme, which includes individual projects worth up to 拢200m.

The tender stresses the university will be taking a 鈥減artnering鈥 approach with its chosen contractors.

Firms will need to provide design, construction, demolition, landscaping and refurbishment work for the university.

The work is due to start after January 2015 and last until January 2023.

The first phase of the development has an estimated construction value of 拢360m, with individual projects valued between 拢10m and 拢200m. The second phase has an estimated construction value of 拢310m made up of individual projects worth between 拢10m and 拢70m.

One of the early jobs will be a (site pictured), where the project team includes Mecanoo, Penoyre & Prasad, Buro Four, Sweett, Aecom, Stephen Levrant Heritage Architecture, Buro Happold and Arup.
