Brookfield鈥檚 1 Leadenhall skyscraper will rise to 37 storeys
Make鈥檚 latest City of London tower next to Leadenhall market has won planning approval.
The 37-storey tower from developer Brookfield will provide 538,000 sq ft of office space above 51,000 sq ft of retail on the first three double-height floors.
Ken Shuttleworth led the design on the tower, known as 1 Leadenhall, which will also feature a free public terrace with winter garden overlooking Leadenhall market.
The current building, Leadenhall Court, is occupied by Amazon who will vacate the premises at the end of this year when it moves to Foster & Partners鈥 Principal Place at the northern end of Bishopsgate.
Brookfield has said work on the tower could begin by 2018 with demolition and construction to last up to three years.
