Mace to assist with 鈥榩lanned transition鈥 to new contractor over next few months
Mace is stepping away from the giant Royal Wharf residential scheme in Docklands, east London, only months after being given the contract to deliver the first phase of the scheme.
Mace has reached an agreement with joint clients Oxley Developments and Ballymore to undertake a planned transition over the next few months to contractor Roundstone Construction Services, which will now deliver the remainder of the first phase and the second phase.
A joint statement by Mace and the developers said: 鈥淥xley Developments and Ballymore have confirmed they are continuing with further phases at Royal Wharf, following the successful commencement of Phase 1 by Mace, which includes the completion of the pre-construction phase and procurement of the primary packages.
鈥淭his now provides a stable production plan for the delivery phase of the project, which will enable Roundstone Construction Services to deliver the remainder of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project. Mace will be undertaking a planned transition over the next few months and Oxley and Ballymore would like to thank Mace for their support to date.鈥
Mace won the contract to deliver the first 811-home phase of Royal Wharf in London鈥檚 Docklands in December.
At the time of the appointment Mace鈥檚 residential business unit director, Simon Underwood, said it was 鈥済reat to be given yet another opportunity to further shape this city. We look forward to working alongside the site鈥檚 developer, Oxley鈥.
The overall Royal Wharf msterplan incorporates 3,000 apartments, town houses, a retail space with cafes and restaurants, a school and a gym.
