Mace has secured more than £400m worth of international work, including its first contract in Syria and two in the Balkans
The firm has been appointed project and cost manager on a five-star hotel in the Syrian capital of Damascus for Bena Properties. It said the £63m scheme opened up a new market for the group and would be delivered on a 33 month schedule.
Elsewhere in the Middle East, it has won a deal to act as project manager on a £65m building in Bahrain. The 41-storey scheme in the Seef area of Manama will be the headquarters of Elaf Bank.
Dubai Real Estate Corporation has also appointed it to project manage a masterplan for the regeneration of the district of Umm Ramool.
Meanwhile, the group has been named project manager on a £139m resort complex in Montenegro, which includes the renovation of a luxury hotel and medical facilities by the Adriatic. Completion of the scheme is due in 2014.
In Serbia, Mace has secured a deal to project manage the refurbishment of a Fiat car factory. The £139m job in the central city of Kragujevac, includes dismantling the existing plant, removing industrial waste and building a new power station and boiler room.
