Construction on the 拢500m development is set to start in April
Mace has been confirmed as the main contractor on Malaysian developer AlloyMtd Group鈥檚 拢500m One Crown Place development in the City of London.
The main contract was signed today, following Mace delivering the pre-construction services on the job.
Construction is due to start site in April, with the project set to be completed by the end of 2020.
The developer said it had chosen Mace 鈥渂ecause of its experience in building high quality and complex developments鈥�.
Gareth Lewis, Mace鈥檚 chief operating officer for construction, said: 鈥淎fter working on the pre-construction phase of One Crown Place we鈥檙e very pleased to have Mace鈥檚 role confirmed on the construction of the project.
鈥淭he project鈥檚 unique design will make for a complex construction delivery, particularly the engineering behind the three-storey steel truss that supports the two towers.鈥�
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, One Crown Place will provide two residential towers housing 246 apartments located above a podium.
The plans also include 140,000ft虏 of office space, which is to be housed in two buildings: 120,000ft虏 will be in the new podium building and 20,000ft虏 in 54 Wilson Street, which is to be refurbished.
There will be retail space at ground level of all the buildings.
Meanwhile, the last remaining Georgian terraces on Sun Street that front the scheme are to be restored and retained to provide 22,000ft虏 of space to house a hotel and leisure/restaurant space.
Global property firm CBRE was appointed by AlloyMtd Group in 2015 to act as development manager to sell the site鈥檚 private apartments and lease the commercial space.
