Contractor is to start next year on a new life sciences facility for the university
Mace has won a contract worth 拢100m to build a new life sciences facility for the University of Sussex.
The scheme at the Falmer campus near Brighton is part of the university鈥檚 拢500m plans to modernise its estate.
It will house laboratories and research spaces to enable high-tech teaching, as well as a Bio-Innovation Centre, which will be a hub for growing bio-medical businesses.
Construction is set to start next year on the facility, which has been designed to complement the vision of the university鈥檚 founding architect, Sir Basil Spence.
Simon Neale, director of estates and facilities at the University of Sussex, said: 鈥淢ace has clearly understood our ambition to develop a beacon of science and innovation excellence that will bring significant economic and social benefit to the South East and UK.鈥
