Lost Town, one of four Landmark East projects sponsored by the East of England Development Agency, has switched sites to Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex.
The sculpture, designed by German architects Anne Niemann and Johannes Ingrisch with civil Arup and QS Davis Langdon, was originally intended to commemorate the Anglo-Saxon centre of Dunwich, Suffolk, which was lost to the sea. Other Landmark East projects are the Bridge of Reeds road bridge near Cambridge, a zig-zag pier for Jaywick Sands in Essex and a bridge that can be transported by canal.
