Morris + Company scheme is part of wider Nine Elms site
Proposals for an office scheme by Morris + Company in the shadow of the US embassy have been submitted for planning by developer Ballymore.
Called EG:HQ, the 13-storey block will go up at a plot directly opposite the Sir Robert McAlpine-built embassy, which opened last year.
The building at Embassy Gardens will include 217,000ft2 of workspace and a further 18,000ft2 of outdoor space.
The plans also include more than 5,000ft2 of ground floor retail and restaurant space, in addition to 330 cycle spaces and a cycle workshop.
The ‘stepped’ design also allows for green roofs, along with private terraces and roof gardens.
If planners at Wandsworth council OK the scheme, construction is set to start early next year and finish in 2022.
