The hublights of the second week of the London Festival of Architecture in Canary Wharf, Stratford and the Greenwich Peninsula

After last weekend鈥檚 extravaganza on Exhibition Road, you could be forgiven for thinking the LFA is over. But fear not, for East London is keen to get in on the act with a week of events, talks and displays. Here are our five hub highlights for Canary Wharf, Stratford and the Greenwich Peninsula, plus five going on elsewhere in the capital. Don鈥檛 forget you can get a full list of what鈥檚 going on at .

Hear Cesar Pelli

27 June
It鈥檚 not too late to get tickets for a talk by Cesar Pelli, the architect behind One Canada Square, London鈥檚 tallest building and a towering symbol for the regeneration of the capital鈥檚 docklands. The Argentine architect will be celebrating his most famous building鈥檚 20th anniversary.

Get on a boat

28 鈥 29 June
If you fancy a tour of London鈥檚 docklands as they were originally meant to be viewed, grab a ride on the festival鈥檚 bespoke boat shuttle service, which will be ferrying visitors between Greenwich Peninsula and Trinity Buoy Wharf all weekend. Organised by Urban Space Management
Where? Catch it at the QEII pier by the O2 centre.

Listen to a house sing

28 June 鈥 20 July
An exhibition, installation and performance piece 鈥 yes, all three 鈥 exploring the role of chimneys in the East of London and beyond. Organised by Spark.

Sit out on the porch

27-29 June
As it鈥檚 going to be nice weather this weekend, why not sit out on the porch? If you can find it, that is. Public Works have promised us a 鈥渕ini-architectural toy鈥, or a mobile garden space that will roam the entire hub all weekend.

Greenwich Peninsula Exhibition

28 June
Providing they鈥檙e not bankrupted by the Olympic Village 鈥 joke, joke 鈥 Lend Lease and JV partner Quintain will be building an enormous scheme at the foot of Lord Rogers鈥 Millennium Dome. Check out the designs by architects such as Terry Farrell, Foreign Office Architects, FLACQ and Jestico + Whiles.

Highlights this week elsewhere at the Festival include:

  • Get on your bike with Feilden Clegg Bradley to discover the importance of water in the development of London. 28 June, departing from St Bart鈥檚 church in Smithfield at 10.30
  • Alain de Botton, Simon Jenkins and Leon Krier discuss whether or not Prince Charles was right about modern architecture at the Royal Geographical Society. 30 June, 6.45pm
  • Mark Wallinger, the artist who wants to build a giant horse in the Thames Gateway, will be giving a breakfast lecture on 1 July. Join him at 8am at The Wapping Project.
  • Last year鈥檚 Stirling Prize winner, David Chipperfield, will be delivering the headline lecture for the Festival at the Institute of Education on 3 July at 7.30pm.
  • And if all that architecture talk is getting a bit serious for you, you could always head to the Jelly Banquet and eat desserts designed by Foster + Partners, Grimshaw and Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners. University College London, 4 July from 7 onwards.
