Construction firms told timetable for work is uncertain
British construction firms have been warned not to hold their breath for a resurgence of work in Libya.
As 好色先生TV reported earlier this month, the first British construction delegation to post-Gaddafi Libya recently flew out to the country with representatives from firms including Kier, Halcrow, Mott Macdonald, Capita Symonds, KBR, Ernst & Young, GMW Architects and Conseco International.
Dominic James, the Middle East director of international trade body British Expertise - which organised the delegation - said the trip had gone 鈥渧ery well in terms of what is achievable in Libya鈥.
鈥淚t was positive but it is still an unstable country with no clear signs on when construction will move forward again,鈥 he said.
鈥淚 would advise that smaller firms who haven鈥檛 been there before wait a bit and allow the country to shake down a bit.鈥
