The London Development Agency (LDA) has launched a database to help developers identify potential sites in the Thames Gateway.

Launched this week at Mipim, the database will flag up possible sites for the 100,000 homes planned for the region, which includes the area around the Olympic park. The sites range from a few dozen homes to several thousand.

It lists the landowner, the size of the site and the stage it has reached in the planning and construction process.

Ted Kyzer, the LDA鈥檚 group director of Olympics and pan-London infrastructure, said: 鈥淲e鈥檝e set a target of 100,000 homes to be built in the Thames Gateway by 2016 鈥 that means doubling the rate of construction.

鈥淎s well as speed we want the best in quality 鈥 world-class design and low or zero carbon.鈥

Opportunities for commercial developments will be added later in the year and the site will be regularly updated.
