Sir Denys Lasdun died unexpectedly of pneumonia last week at the age of 86.
Lasdun will be remembered for a distinctive modernist style of horizontal layers and vertical towers.
He made his mark on the world with the Royal National Theatre in London and the Royal College of Physicians,. The college was regarded by many, including himself, as his finest building.
Lasdun's last project, a 拢1.75m extension to the house of Timothy Sainsbury MP in Newbury, Berkshire, will be completed at the end of this month.
