Ainscough snaps up part of contractor鈥檚 Select fleet division

Laing O鈥橰ourke has agreed a deal to sell its mobile cranes division to Ainscough.

In a statement the contractor said it had reviewed its plant division Select and decided to sell-off its mobile fleet. Laing O鈥橰ourke said it will continue to invest in other parts of Select.

A Laing O鈥橰ourke spokesperson added: 鈥淎s part of the group鈥檚 best practice we are continuously looking at improvements that we can make in the efficiency and productivity of our operations.

鈥淗aving assessed our mobile crane assets, we believe that the operational support of an external partner in this area will strengthen our offer.

鈥淲e have agreed to sell our mobile fleet to Ainscough Crane Hire, who currently meet 75% of our mobile crane requirements, and we will continue to work with them on an ongoing basis.鈥

In January this year Laing O鈥橰ourke announced its intention to sell its 拢1.5bn-turnover Australian arm, although a sale has not yet materialised.
