Contractor will build laboratory for advanced materials
Laing O’Rourke has been appointed to build a £235m advanced materials lab at the University of Manchester’s Engineering Campus.
The contractor joins project and cost manager Arcadis, architect NBBJ, engineer Ramboll, M&E engineer Arup and landscape architect Gillespies on the job.
New visualisations of the 16,000sqm project, to be called the Henry Royce Institute, have also been released. The building is expected to cost £150m and is expected to open in 2019. Work will begin early in the new year.
