Construction products giant sells its Australian operations for £109m
Construction products giant Lafarge has sold its Australian gypsum business, weeks after it entered talks to sell an 80% stake in its Euopean and South American gypsum businesses.
Lafarge - which merged with former rival Tarmac earlier this year - has sold the Australian gypsum business to Knauf for €120m (£109m).
Under the terms of the earlier deal Lafarge is set receive €850m (£748m) for its European and South American gypsum operations and a 20% stake in a new partnership with Etex, subject to approval by anti-trust authorities.
