Contractor will build luxury residential scheme for Hong Kong investor Knight Dragon
Kier has been appointed to build a 拢50m residential scheme in London鈥檚 Greenwich Peninsula for Hong Kong developer Knight Dragon.
The project (pictured, left) will comprise of 224 luxury apartments across four blocks, the tallest of which will be 24 storeys, built next to the Thames.
The scheme is part of the second phase to be developed at Greenwich Peninsula by Knight Dragon, which bought out the 160-acre scheme鈥檚 previous joint owners Lend Lease and Quintain in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
In total over 60 development plots will be created by Knight Dragon in Greenwich Peninsula by 2039, and the scheme will deliver over 10,000 new homes.
Haydn Mursell, chief executive of Kier, said the win was 鈥渢estament鈥 to Kier鈥檚 鈥渉igh-rise development skills鈥, adding: 鈥淸These skills] will prove important in the London market as we witness a high increase in demand for high-rise schemes. 鈥
Kier also announced today that its services division has been appointed to a 拢25m six-year engineering and construction contract by the Canal & River Trust.
Kier will provide construction works across the Canal & River Trust鈥檚 system of canals, equating to 100 major projects and 200 minor repair projects per year.
