Anna Baker joins from Careys
Kier has brought in a former Sir Robert McAlpine director to head up the sustainability business at its construction arm.
Anna Baker will be in charge of a series of initiatives at the business including net zero by 2039, eliminating avoidable waste by 2035 and helping customers deliver on their sustainability targets.
She was previously head of sustainability at concrete and demolition specialist Careys for two years after joining from McAlpine where she spent a dozen years ending up as safety and sustainability director.
Kier’s construction business gets a new boss next month with Stuart Togwell moving across from commercial to take charge of the £1.4bn division after the departure of Liam Cummins who is leaving to join Italian cladding firm Permasteelisa as group chief executive.
Kier has not yet announced who is taking over from Togwell as commercial boss.
