Michael O’Hagan brought in to lead £120m division
Keltbray’s ongoing rejig has seen the firm poach Getjar’s long-standing commercial director to head up its concrete business.
Michael O’Hagan joined Hertfordshire-based Getjar in 1994 but has now moved to its larger rival as the head of its £120m turnover business.
Getjar was set up in 1980 by Mick Masterson and in its most recent set of results the concrete frame and groundworks specialist improved turnover 29% to £138m with pre-tax profit up 19% to £5.9m in the year to August 2019.
The firm’s 2019 accounts, which were signed off at the end of April, show that O’Hagan left on 31 March.
Keltbray has been on the hunt for a new leader of its concrete business ever since the firm parted company with Gordon Dunne nearly two years ago.
Andy McClafferty, the managing director of Keltbray’s structures business, has been carrying out the role on an interim basis since.
Dunne had joined the firm when Keltbray picked up some of the assets of Dunne’s collapsed concrete business Dunne Group which went under in 2016.
Keltbray is looking to double the volume of work it carries out over the next three years at the business which, along with its rail arm, is the company’s biggest division.
Earlier this year, Keltbray lured Costain’s chief operating officer Darren James to become its new chief executive after more than 30 years at the contractor.
