HCA has announced deal to build new homes in Greater Manchester and Merseyside

More than 900 new affordable homes are to built in the North-west by social housing consortium under a 拢104m programme, the Homes & Communities Agency has announced.

As part of the 905-home deal, which covers Greater Manchester and Merseyside and is due to be completed in 2015, the HCA has invested 拢20m through the .

Of the 905 homes, 744 will be available at affordable rent rates and 161 will be shared ownership units.

The 拢20m HCA investment will be distributed to JV North consortium members depending on the number of homes being built, which are as follows:

鈥 New Charter Housing Trust: 317 homes
鈥 Helena Partnerships: 226 homes
鈥 Liverpool Mutual Homes: 74 homes
鈥 Parkway Green Housing Trust: 68 homes
鈥 Trafford Housing Trust: 198 homes
鈥 Weaver Vale Housing Trust: 22 homes

Trafford Housing Trust鈥檚 is expected to be the first development with work due to start in January next year and completed towards the end of 2013.

JV North chairman and Helena Partnerships鈥 chief executive, Rob Young, said:
