Sir Anthony Bamford was among a number of Conservative Party donor who attended a dinner with the Prime Minister
The construction industry has been caught up in the scandal over Conservative party donors access to the Prime Minister after it emerged that JCB boss Sir Anthony Bamford was among those to attend a dinner at Number 10 .
Bamford attended a 鈥渢hank you鈥 dinner for donors on 14 July 2010, soon after the last general election. This dinner was also attended by Sir John Sainsbury, boss of the supermarket chain and Murdock MacLennan, publisher of the Daily Telegraph and a number of other donors.
Bamford has donated over 拢100,000 to the Conservative Party and its members since 2007.
David Cameron has been criticised in recent days for granting special access to a host of Tory party donors from across the business world.
The scandal erupted after Tory party treasurer Peter Cruddas was secretly filmed boasting that donations of 拢250,000 would buy donors access to the prime minister.
Cruddas resigned after the report appeared in the Sunday Times.
