James & Taylor has helped provide the cladding for a college building at the Aquinas sixth-form college in Stockport, which is due to open in September
Working in partnership with architect Broadway Malyan, the aim was to create a modern look, using James & Taylor’s Senses Aluminium tiles with varying degrees of reflectivity to create a shimmering finish.
Senses Aluminium is a plank rainscreen system that combines the precision of extruded aluminium sections with the durability of anodised finishes. It is available in plank heights up to a maximum of 250mm in length to co-ordinate with the format of the elevation.
According to the company it is suitable for all wall constructions. The system is made up of restraint clips, support rails and sprung vertical joint profiles to provide a lightweight rainscreen solution in full compliance with the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology requirements.
Senses Aluminium is available in a wide range of anodised colours that can be combined with polishing and etching pre-treatments to create different facade effects.
