Work at site opposite famous criminal court cost £67m
ISG has completed a £67m refurbishment of an office building opposite the Old Bailey in the City of London for investment group Blackstone.
The £67m scheme has involved replacing the façade of the 1980s building at 20 Old Bailey, adding another two storeys to create an extra 2,900sq m of space and rejigging the internal layout of the office block.
The scheme, which was designed by Buckley Gray Yeoman, has also added external terraces on the upper floors to gives views over the Old Bailey and nearby St Paul’s Cathedral.
Buckley Gray Yeoman said it had revised the layout of the existing building, which overlooks the famous criminal court, introducing a new internal ‘street’ at ground level linking Old Bailey to Fleet Place, above which is a new glazed atrium.
Investment bank Barings is understood to be set to occupy a number of floors of the renovated building.
Developer on the scheme was Blackstone.
