Drinks giant Diageo awards rescue jobs for two Scottish facilities
ISG will step in to replace stricken building services firm Rok as the main contractor for 拢100m worth of construction projects for drinks giant Diageo.
The appointment by Diageo Scotland means work can recommence on construction projects at a 拢86m packaging plant in Leven, Fife and a 拢9m cooperage at Cambus near Alloa.
Work had been put on hold after contractor Rok went into administration on 8th November, 2010.
Bryan Donaghery, Diageo Scotland Managing Director, said: 鈥溾淭he insolvency of ROK was very unwelcome news both for us and for the many employees and contractors impacted by this highly unfortunate situation.
鈥淓verybody loses from company failures such as this, and our priority now is to continue these projects through to a timely and successful conclusion.鈥
Craig Tatton, ISG鈥檚 UK Construction Managing Director, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to be working with Diageo to bring the Cambus and Leven projects to successful completion in line with original plans.鈥
Diageo is a global drinks business with major brands such as Johnnie Walker, Guiness and Smirnoff.
