PRUPIM strikes deal with Royal & SunAlliance to provide EPCs for all its property portfolio ahead of legislation next year
Investment manager PRUPIM has contracted insurance group Royal & SunAlliance to provide Energy Perfomance Certificates for its entire property portfolion.
R&SA, with its energy partner Charterhouse Energy, will provide PRUPIM with guaranteed level of support for implementing EPCs, which are required for all buildings that are sold, rented or built in April 2008.
The deal will also include R&SA providing a report containing recommended measures to further improve the energy efficiency of a building, together with an inspection and report related to air-conditioing, one of the largest contributors of CO2 in a building.
Paul Cornes, director of sustainability at PRUPIM said: 鈥淭he Energy Performance Certificates bring a valuable certification to our properties as we believe ratings may impact the values of properties in the future."
Martin Stephens, PRUPIM's director of health, safety and environmental management said: "This facility enables us to buy, sell, and let commercial properties in accordance with forthcoming legislation.
