Midlands development is part of a 拢650m waste transfer management deal
Interserve has signed a deal with Serco to build a 拢10m recycling and waste composting facility at Pikehelve in the Midlands.
Work is expected to start in October with three principal buildings to house waste treatment facilities, offices and depot facilities.
The development comes as part of a 拢650m agreement between Serco and Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council to collect and treat household waste.
The council is aiming to reach a 50% recycling and composting rate by 2015 as well as reducing waste sent to landfill sites to a mere 5% by 2020.
