Chris Tyerman brought in to head infrastructure business
Contractor Interserve has poached Chris Tyerman (pictured) from rival contractor Costain to head its infrastructure business.
The support services and construction group announced today that it has appointed Tyerman as managing director of its infrastructure business. He replaces Simon Ohlenschlager who is due to retire in 2015.
Before taking his new role at Interserve, Tyerman was operations efficiency director at Costain, the latest in a string of roles he has held at the engineering and construction company.
Interserve construction managing director Ian Renhard said he intended to grow the businesses infrastructure division.
He added: 鈥淐hris brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over 28 years in the industry, which has seen him lead projects in water, highways, building and operational efficiency. These skillsets will help us to continue to develop the business, building on our experience and vision to bring innovation and ingenuity to the industry.鈥
Tyerman鈥檚 appointment follows on from Interserve鈥檚 recent success in being awarded a place on the Highways Agency鈥檚 拢5bn Collaborative Delivery Framework.
